This was a 2-day animation challenge that I got to work on with an amazing group of people. I worked on the storyboards, then animated and colored the bathroom mirror scene. Because we had so little time to spend on the story, I made these as we were still smoothing out the details.
This is a project that I worked on with Sara Rubright for Advanced 3D Modeling. I drew the looks-like sheets, modeled the couch and additional arms, rotoscoped half of the hands in Maya, then again in After Effects, animated the lighting effect for when the finger comes into contact with things in the scene, and rendered half of the various passes.
This is a project that I worked on with Sara Rubright and Mike Wisniewski. A man walking down the street sees a plastic bottle on the ground, picks it up, and puts it in the recycle bin. As he walks away, his world changes into a lush, green, urban forest with squirels, birds, and a fawn. I was in charge of character sheets, getting the live action footage, and making some of the test animations.
For this project, I made the character designs, scouted places to shoot the footage, helped shoot the footage, and worked on test animations in preproduction. Then, for the final piece, I animated/ painted the hedge and all of the birds.
This is 5 different shades of black, white, and gray paper cut with an exacto knife and glued together.
If you listen to "Stairway To Heaven (Instrumental)", it's about 7 minutes long, but this starts to make more sense...
On a TV show where the music sings, dances, and plays itself, an unnoticed sixteenth note must step up his game, or get canned. His only friend, Dave the cameraman, helps him realize his potential and be the best note that he can be. Others, like The Conductor, want him out of the picture for good, and will go to any lengths, even sabotage, to see the little note off the show.
Sam Sixteenth-Note is a loyal friend and very good at his job, but gets stage fright in front of the oppressive, overbearing conductor.

Character feels he has no purpose in life beyond being a doodle. Then a cord appears, so he gets excited and pulls it.
